Which international designer is funky, blonde and coming to Austin Fashion Week 2010?
Betsey Johnson is showing her newest collection showing at Austin Fashion Week!!
As a little girl I remember walking through the Houston Galleria with my mom and passing her store, in awe of the magical and inspiring designs that danced inside, knowing one day I might have the chance to meet (aka stalk) the eclectic designer. So happy this day has finally arrived!
Johnson’s clothes are known for bold colors, whimsical styles with lots of patterns that exuberate sex while at the same time make a girlish atmosphere pop. “I think you’ve got to give a girl what’s missing from her closet. If something jazzy, tacky or sexy is what’s missing, I provide it,” explained Betsey Johnson.
I couldn’t agree more!
There is nothing like that statement piece you have shoved in your closet that you only take out for those special occasions or when you are feeling a bit frisky.
The folks over at Austin Fashion Week have really outdone themselves this year, and I can’t wait to see what else they’ve got up their sleeves. Personally I’m keeping my fingers crossed Betsey stays with her signature style and ends her Austin runway show with cartwheels…ahhh the cartwheels!
If you could have any international designer come to Austin who would it be?
Is there a local Austin designer you think is most inspired by Betsey Johnson?
What are you most excited about with Austin Fashion Week this year?
POST UPDATE: Sadly Launch787 just let us know that Betsy won’t actually be accompanying her collection this year, so my stalking will have to wait.
