Sponsorship and Online Advertising Sales Representative

We’ve got a lot of opportunities coming down the pike for this position at both Republic of Austin and some of our upcoming ventures. This position also has an insane opportunity for growth. Don’t worry if you don’t know everything about social media-I can teach you.

Job experience and requirements:

• 3-5 years event sponsorship or experience in media sales (online, broadcast or print)
• Ability to understand and explain new media/online opportunities and benefits to clients in a way that fits into their overall marketing strategy
• Ability to scout out and find new business opportunities
• Must be able to work both independently and in teams
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to organize and manage media and sponsorship campaigns
• Desire to push towards innovation
• Love of Austin

Reporter/Blogger

Are you super enthusiastic and passionate about some aspect of Austin culture and life? Do you feel like news is too negative? Want to help build a vibrant community centered around Austin life? Then you might enjoy working with the RoA team.

A couple of things: We shy away from journalistic voice. We want to be video/photo heavy. We like to work in teams. You must be ok with being edited.

We do have a real editorial cycle. You pitch ideas, you create the post and then I edit the post. I can help with idea generation, training, etc. We have video cameras, too!

Don’t worry if you don’t know how to shoot or edit video. We can teach you that.

You must be able to commit to at least 1 post every two weeks (preferably once a week).

Marketing Intern

We’re looking for a marketing/PR intern with 0-2 years experience. It’s a great opportunity to get hands on experience with social media, web and events marketing. It’s part-time with potential to grow. And don’t worry about knowing everything about social media-I can teach you.

Qualifications:

• Current student in Communications, PR, Journalism or Marketing
• You should have a Facebook and Twitter account
• You should know what Foursquare and Gowalla are
• Bonus if you are on Tumblr or Reddit
• Attention to detail
• Ability to communicate
• Good writer
• Able to work in teams
