“Jam On It: An Interview With Austin Electro Rocker Tibaut Bowman from Auto Body”

2009 November 19

GIlManteraNov2009We’ve got a lot of great musicians in Austin.  And while the city’s music scene is mostly identified as rock or indie, we’ve got our share of dance and electronic acts.  Promising newcomers Auto Body are the perfect example.

Auto Body, made up of Felix Moreno on synths and bass and Tibaut Bowman on vox and samplers, sounds a lot like European acts Boys Noize or Justice.  Tibaut’s vocals also kinda remind me of the Stone Roses or Charlatans UK.

You may remember Auto Body from their kick-a debut show at Beauty Bar (YouTube) last September.  With plenty of block rockin beats and a stage full of flashing lights, these guys set it OFF!  If you missed that show, you can catch them TONIGHT at Emo’s, opening for the rock-out-with-your-cocktail-out-booty-shaking-party-police-experience that is Gil Mantera.
