Austin is totes ghey (this wknd only!) - Procrastinators Guide to Official Austin Gay Pride 2010 and Queer Bomb Parties.
Thanks to the Republic of Texas (no relation) Rally and Gay Pride, June can be a confusing month. Whenever a hairy dude in a leather jacket walks up to me, I’m not sure if he is a straight biker dude who wants to kick my dillo azz, a gay biker dude who wants to kick my dillo azz, or a gay leather bear who wants to, um, do something else to my dillo azz?
Thankfully, this year Gay Pride and the ROT Rally are on separate weekends, so consider that problem solved. Now I just gotta figure out where to get my party on. Gays know how to party, but with TWO gay groups this year, it can get a little confusing.
To help you sort it out, check out our guide to the official and unofficial parties happening during Austin Gay Pride 2010.
PRICING:
- Austin Gay Pride General Admission (includes all the official events below) = $10
- Queer Bomb (Main events) = Free

District 512 presents “we’re still queer honey!”
Raunchy female comedienne Sandra Bernhard headlines a night of music, comedy and drag performances. Rumor has it that she was originally supposed to play the official Pride event, but they thought she wasn’t family-friendly enough. We hear she’s funny AND she used to date Madonna. That’s a joke in itself. Part of the proceeds from the ticket sales go to the charity of your choice.
- DEETS: “District 512 presents “we’re still queer honey!”” (Friday, 06.04.10); Fader Fort (1101 E 5th, 78702); Doors at 5.30P show all night; Not sure on ticket price Facebook Event

Gay house music (DJ Chris Cox) and that dude who beatboxed on American Idol (Blake Lewis). Big Screens. Probably shirtless dudes.
