So excited to be launching a new video series. Based on Parisian music blog La Blogotheque’s Takeaway Shows, our “Voyeur Video” series is a lot like porn for music lovers. Shot in one take at locations around the city, the videos are intimate and not like traditional live performances. They’ll also give us a chance to cover visiting bands in a uniquely Austin way.

Our first video comes from Austin’s Hollywood Gossip. I met bassist Cory Ryan and drummer Tom Hudson at a South Side Sanctuary party last summer. We also traveled on the Marfa Bullet together when heading out to El Cosmico.

Hollywood Gossip’s music is very upbeat and fun. For the video, Cory and I wanted bright colors, so we picked the wall outside Shangri La on the East Side. Much love to the Shangri La owners for running an extension cord to help power the band’s amps.
