“September 12th, 2009: South Side Sanctuary Grand Opening Party”
Last Saturday, we headed down south to hit up the grand opening of South Side Sanctuary and Sanctuary Printshop‘s Grand Opening of their new space. You may remember South Side Sanctuary from our interview with founder Jon Pattillo from June’s First Thursday on SoCo. Their shirts bring it, so it’s no surprise the party was def OTC!
Nestled in an industrial park just south of Ben White on South Congress, the guys have converted the warehouse into a pretty kick-a workspace. With walls lined in old LP album covers, posters and Banksy-style conversions of old thrift store paintings, rock-and-roll seems to permeate every inch of the place. Gotta say, there’s nothing like drinking and dancing around 100-year old printing presses with Johnny Cash animated short videos projected on the wall. Mad props to Flip Scene for another great event.
Here are some of our favorite pics for the night, you can find the complete set on flickr or facebook (tag people we forgot!). We might subtitle this post: Check out Chris Apollo’s shoe fetish…
