“PICTURES: Austin Halloween 2009 and DO512 Graveyard Party”
In a status update, one of my Facebook friends had this to say about Halloween:
Is it my imagination or was Halloween on crack this year?! OOC.
I don’t think I could agree more. SRSLY OOC. Case in point: It’s been a LONG time since we were at a party where everyone was drinking out of their own liquor bottle with a handle–you know, from classy brands like Seagram’s Vodka or Rikaloff. But that’s what it was like at an epic party in Travis Heights.
The night started at DO512′s Graveyard Party. With the flame jugglers, the scary clowns on stilts and the gothic electronic music, the party felt kinda like Mad Max or a tame Burning Man. For me, ArcAttack was by far the highlight of the party. They put on a kick-a electro-trash rock show that included giant Tesla Coils (those static electricity looking things from Frankenstein!) that “sang.” Amazing!
After DO512, this vampire bunny and crew party hopped all over South Austin. We were hoping to hippity hop on over to the Bridge Party. Sadly, the cops popped the party making the bridge a bust. Regardless, the evening was a BLAST.
- Favorite Couple: Bumper Cars; or the Bar of Soap and Giant Loofa (add a Dirty Hippie for a Threesome!)
- Most Popular: Max (Wild Thing); Lady Gaga; Michael Jackson
- Best Use of Recycling: The dude who made a complete Knight’s Costume out of Lone Star cans
- Most Shocking: The “Shocker” rubbing a Giant Banana’s head
- By Far the Effing Raddest: A Vincent Van Gogh self portrait (completely painted and w ear missing)
