Adi Anand is Austin’s number one local music fan. Don’t believe me? Then you’ve never been to his “From the Mind of Adi” series at the Mohawk. The twice-monthly event features performances from well-known bands AND newcomers alike. And even if local musicians aren’t performing, they’re probably still hanging out at the party.

When Adi started the series, he felt like there needed to be more events featuring local music for the 8-5 working folks. That’s why the event happens from 6-10P. And to make sure people weren’t gonna starve right after work, he also decided to throw in free food from some of Austin’s favorite restaurants like Woodland and Frank.

Did we mention there’s local music and art? Yup, 3 bands and an art exhibition!

Tonight is EXTRA special because it’s Adi’s birthday.

Come down to the ‘hawk to have a birthday drink with me.Enjoy tacos from Cedar Door, refreshments from Waialua Soda Works, cupcakes from Peaches Maggee, another stellar art show courtesy of Deep In The Art Of Texas, and of course, three great bands. Shallows A.D. kick things off this evening at 7 p.m., Tow The Line (members of Visitors, Recover) is on second at 8 p.m., and The Frontier Brothers take the stage at 9 p.m. to close out FTMOA’s Spring 2010 Residency Series. Doors at 6 as always

It’s also going to be the last event of the series before Adi launches a new project in August at Club de Ville. The new series will be similar, but instead of 3 bands, there will be 2 bands plus a DJ. WOO WOO!
