“Blogger Intro: Jasmine”

2009 April 21

Hi Folks:

Growing up in conservative San Antonio, college first brought me to Austin.  Almost immediately, I felt at home with its outdoor-loving, liberal citizens who fought the big box and supported local businesses. Having found my people, I planted my roots.  With the exception of that unavoidable bummer, the heat, I love Austin!

When it’s not burning up, you can find me out hiking on the Greenbelt with my boyfriend TK and our 4-pound Chihuahua, Junebug.  Otherwise, I’m prob attending any of the great events this city offers—especially anything arts-related.  Despite the day job, I attend a lot of art happenings around town.  As a life-long artist myself, it’s been cool to witness the expansion of Austin’s art community over the years.  Through Republic of Austin, I can’t wait to share that love with you!
